Whatsim-New Sim for Whatsapp usage without internet

WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging services worldwide, with the company recently announcing 700 million monthly active users. Now, in an attempt to woo the large WhatsApp user base, an Italian company has launched WhatSim, a WhatsApp-only SIM that comes with a plan that will let you use the popular messaging app for free while travelling across about 150 countries.

Manuel Zanella Rngineer, Founder and CEO of Zeromobile, the company behind WhatSim, says, "WhatsApp is the future of mobile communications. Its only "limit" is the data connection especially when you are traveling because the roaming charges are expensive and you can't always find Wi-Fi everywhere and it is not always free. As someone who appreciates and uses WhatsApp, I tried to figure out how to get around this problem. That's why WhatSim is an extraordinary opportunity for WhatsApp."

While sending and receiving text messages, location updates, and contacts via WhatsApp is free, users will have to buy credits for sharing multimedia messages such as photos, videos, and voice messages. How much you get for your credits depends on where you are travelling.

Zanella further explains, "The solution we have developed is simple and intuitive. With €5 you get 1000 credits that you can use, for instance, to exchange 50 photos or 10 videos in many countries around the world. There are no limits to sharing your position and contacts. This way we guarantee the utmost transparency. Buying a recharge is quick and easy: just go to our website even from your smartphone and soon even from a dedicated app."

WhatSim is available to buy via the WhatSim website, with the company also planning to make it available via "network of local distributors in over 100 countries."

Of course this is not the first time someone's offering a SIM with unlimited WhatsApp usage, though earlier attempts have been limited to a specific country. Last year, WhatsApp, in partnership with E-Plus, a mobile telecommunications operator in Germany, started selling prepaid SIMs that offered unlimited WhatsApp usage.

Disable Whatsapp Blue ticks

WhatsApp introduced a feature which allowed users to view whether their messages were read or not with the help of two blue ticks.

Some people found it interesting while the rest, were freaking out. A single tick indicted that the message was sent; two ticks indicated that it was delivered and two blue ticks proved that your massage has been read by the opposite recipient. It seemed for a while that this move might have been a bad decision compelling users to forcefully reply to messages and there was no escape.

Given the outcry, WhatsApp is now making some changes. The mobile messaging service quietly introduced a new feature which allows you to disable the blue ticks ‘read receipts’. Remember that once disabled, users cannot check if others have read their messages either. This feature is again, only available for Android users. The new 2.11.444 WhatsApp version is available for download on their website.

Follow the simple steps to download the latest APK file from WhatsApp. (Make sure your smartphone is running on Android 2.1 or higher version.)

Step 1. Your first step will be to go Settings and enable ‘Download from Unknown Sources’.

Step 2. Later, go to WhatsApp’s website and download the APK file.

Step 3. Once downloaded, Install the app to your phone.

Step 4. Once installed, open WhatsApp and head to ‘Settings’.

Step 5. Go to Account and click on Privacy.

Step 6. You will have the option, ‘Read Receipts’. Click on it and it will disable the blue ticks in your messages.

This update is not yet available on Google Play Store. The update is not available for iOS and Windows yet.

Recover your shortcut files from your pendrive

This post will explains you how to recover or get back the files that are infected by the shortcut virus in your USB drive or Pen drive.

It can happen to anyone.

You save your important data to your USB drive or external hard drive. After some time, you find that you cannot access your data! When you check the file names, the file name is same as you saved earlier. However, the icon suggests that it’s actually a shortcut.

Yes, just a shortcut to the file, not the actual data file as you had stored on your USB drive. That means your USB drive has been affected by shortcut virus.

Three Steps to follow:

Step 1.Press the Window key and “R” key on your keyboard simultaneously. It will open the “Run” prompt. For those who are not aware, Run prompt is used to start any application by just typing the short name of the application.

Step 2.So once you have opened the Run prompt, type CMD. Then hit the Enter key. CMD will open Command Prompt – a black window where you can type DOS commands.

Step 3.Once you are in command prompt, type in below command.

ATTRIB -H -R -S /S /D J:\

The letter J denotes the letter of the drive that represents your USB drive or pen drive. It may change from one computer to other computer. So, first check in your “Computer” the letter that denotes your USB drive and according use it in the above command.

Once you have keyed in the above command with correct letter of USB, hit the enter key.

That’s it. Just go back to your USB drive after a couple of minutes and you will see all the data back.

Take back-up of your data files (not the shortcut files) on your PC and then format the problematic USB. The shortcut virus should be gone.
